Hello & Happy Wednesday everyone!
I've got my weekly Holiday Challenge card
ready to go and share with you -
ready to go and share with you -
As most of you already know... I went to
a Holiday Card Class about 2 weeks ago
and we made about 8 or 9 holiday cards -
I'm not sure where the designs came from
so I can't give credit to whoever designed them
but I will say I altered them to work for me -
My friend made them as kits for everyone to make
and made them fairly simple to create because she
has a lot of friends who prefer basic, simple card designs
and I do too, to some extent, but the cards needed
something more for me - So I'll show you the card
she made and then the one I Altered to work for me ---

My friend made them as kits for everyone to make

something more for me - So I'll show you the card
she made and then the one I Altered to work for me ---
Here is her card design that I had to create --
Sorry about the glare - I took the photo's of each card in their
cellophane bags -- Now let me start by saying this
card is cute but way too plain for me....
I'm not a huge fan of white on white.... It looks beautiful
with some designs... and the embossing is great...
So this is what I created with the pieces ---
First, I changed the cardbase to Red - Right there made a huge
difference with a little more color! Then I wanted FUN
Pattern papers to be my presents (like Wrapping Paper)
so I used some patterns from Doodlebug Designs --
And since my patterns had red, green, & White in them,
I chose to go with some Candy Cane Trendy Twine
for my bows and triple bow tie them! I also changed the
sentiment to something fun and green to flow with my card -
and of course I used a stitched rectangle die for a clean border!
I honestly think my card is like night & day with her card...
Since it's November 1st & I realize how close
Christmas is - I thought I would start to have some giveaways
for you - I actually have a bad memory sometimes and order
an item, get it in, and then forget I ordered it! So then, I re-order it
only to realize I have it already! UGH!! Soooo, I thought
I would start giving away my "Extras" that I don't need!
Up for grabs today is this AWESOME

I'd love to win those tree dies! I've been following you a long time and really enjoy your cards.
ReplyDeleteTheresa, your card is awesome and I love how simple it is but it really pops! Great way to use scraps too!
ReplyDeleteWow, your card is so gorgeous!! It made such a difference to add color!! the papers you used are beautiful!! Love it, my friend!! I too, am guilty of buying the same die or stamp set, so I made a master list and I try to add to it every time I buy something new. It's helped me so much!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

ReplyDeleteLove what you did with your card, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour card carries a lot more punch than the original. I love the bright colors and the fun sentiment, but what really floats my boat are those triple bows!! Such a small touch, but so creative and I wouldn't have thought of it myself! :)
