Spread your Wings...

Hello and Happy Tuesday Everyone!
I'm back to try my hand at:

WATERCOLORING!

Yup! all this week, I'll be sharing images
I watercolored over the weekend!

I'm using Digital Images from Polka Dot Orchard Designs
She is an up and coming Digital artist and my friend -
So, of course, I had to play with her new designs!

FYI - I'm not a colorist by any means -
I just try my best to color how I like -
and hope the people receiving these cards
get some type of enjoyment from them!

Here we go with today's Project -

I'm not gonna lie - I STRUGGLED with this one -
WHY? I have no clue!!! The more I look at it
the more it's starting to grow on me... I Guess... 😌

I'm using my Zig Watercolor pens on all my
images this week. I'm also using Canson XL Watercolor
paper. Everything was printed out on my Laser Printer then
I sprayed it with Krylon Workable Fixatif.
All of my cards have Fun Foam for added dimension -

The Sentiment, Flowers, & Bird are from the
Spread your Wings Digital Stamp Set

The best thing about Digital Stamps is that you
can Size them to whatever it is your working on -
I tend to do my Digital stamping in my Silhouette Program -
It makes it easy to drag & drop my images onto my
digital mat and then I size them to whatever card size
mat I'm using - I was even able to cut the "Thinking of You"
sentiment - The digital set shows it as a long sentiment -

Well, because of the way I was designing my layout
I needed to "cut" the pieces so they laid on top
of each other to fit in the one corner -

With regular stamps, I would have to cut my stamp up -
With digital stamps, I can do it without damaging anything!
Win! Win! 😁

I used my Stitched rectangle Frame die and some
Lucy's Card's clear gems to finish off my simple card -

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a Fantastic Day!!!

Theresa

  1. This card is pretty too using PDO images that you've colored! My only suggestion would have been some definition of color contrast between the background surrounding the hummingbird vs the hummingbird. In the photograph it's looking about the same teal hue. Otherwise I appreciate your willingness to share your crafting journey in trying a new technique and product with the watercolor pens! Kudos to you!

  3. Pretty colors & I especially love the hummer! I only feel successful with Zigs when I use Bristol paper, so I'm impressed you can use them on wc paper!
