One of 2 Cards....

Hello and Happy Tuesday everyone!
I first want to let everyone know that this weekend
June 4th - 6th I will be participating in a Fun Blog hop called
Grillin' & Chillin' hosted by Barb over at
 http://bugbites411.blogspot.com/
She wanted to celebrate the start of the Summer Season
with a fun Buggie Hop! So Make sure you come back
for that, cause you know I'll be giving something away! :o)
And today I wanted to show one of the cards I made for
my moms birthday last week. I know my sister Mi-Mi posted
hers already and I was finally able to take some pictures of mine
so I thought I would share with all of you! :o)

I have always wanted to make a quilt type of card... I've
seen a billion different ones over the last year and never
tried one for myself... Until now that is! I figured out
what sizes I should make the squares after a few
trial and errors... Tehehe but once I got the exact sizing down
I cut everything out and then used my Sizzix die...
I pre-designed this card in my Design studio about a
month ago... and added the twine and pearls
after looking at my card thinking it needed something...

Here are the specks on it:

Card Stock, Ink, Stamp, Top Note Die - Stampin' Up
Designer Paper - MME (Pretty Please)
Pink Bakers Twine
White Pearls - KaiserCraft
Blue Pearls - Prima Marketing
Cartridges - Lacey Labels (#4 on Overlay) Cut @ 2"
Serenade (Butterfly) Cut @ 1 1/2" (2x's)

I only added a little bit to the inside...
I wanted the sentiment to be my focal point!

For those of you who may never have made this type
of card before, this is how I figured it out....
I took a piece of White Card stock  (4 x 5)
of course that was after trying different sizes at first! LOL
Then I figured the squares @ 1 1/4" eh. and I used 12 of them
I glued the squares to the CS then I put it through my
cuttlebug with the Top Note die (2 B plates Only) and there ya have it...
a quilt looking design! I hope that helps someone out! :o)
Thanks for stopping by and have an AWESOME DAY!!!

Sailboat....

Hello and Happy Monday Everyone!
I want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day!
I know I've been missing a little bit... My Son's
graduation was wonderful and yes I did shed a
couple of tears when they played the song
Good Riddance (Time of your life) By Green Day....
They were showing pictures of the kids throughout
their High Schools years and I just started thinking
about his High School Years and it just sort of came out! :o)
I was OK after that... Once it was completely over we headed
to an area so I could take pictures of him and his friends... I can't
wait to scrapbook those pictures.... :o) His Diploma arrived on
Saturday with his grades... So now it's onto the next phase - COLLEGE!
And Enjoying Summer Vacation of course! :o)
Here's today's project for ya!

Card Stock, Ink, Stamp, Window Punches - Stampin' Up
Cartridge - Imagine More (Sailboat) Cut @ 5 1/2" (2x's)
(Strip) Cut @ 1.10" x 5 1/2"
(Background) Cut @ 4 x 5 1/4"
Lacey Labels (#4 Shape) Cut @ 3 1/4"
And the Shadow as well...

This was just to show the dimension of the Sailboat...
This would make a perfect Father's Day card too!
It was a quick and simple card to put together....
I'm going to put this in the Challenge over at:
Birthday Sundaes - Masculine Card

Thanks for stopping by.... Enjoy your day with Family & Friends...
Remember what Memorial Day is all about..... Honoring &
remembering what our Military Sacrifice for our Freedom!
God Bless AMERICA!!!

My Moms Birthday Card!

Hello again and happy saturday! Yesterday was my mom's birthday so today's card is what I made for her. I made it while I was at my sister's house so rest assured I had plenty of supplies, lol. Although, these were made with the supplies I brought with me. When I was packing to go up there I was even asked "why are you taking stuff with you, doesn't your sister have enough?". I said yes of course, but, maybe she doesn't have what I have or want to use, lol. Believe me when I say she does have what I have and more, lol. Anyways, her birthday was two days after my oldest's and now I have to make 2 more b-day cards for my other 2 kids which are coming up the next 2 weekends. I know, they are all Geminis, heehee. Here's the card....

You Did it!!!

Hello there and happy Friday! Well this week I went to Utah to visit my sister and her family for my nephew's graduation. I went with one of my daughters (the aunt to..) and my granddaughter and had a good time. It was nice to see them again. I only have one sister (my co-blogger) and every time we get together it's always nothing but laughs. I haven't laughed so hard in so long it was worth the 7 hour drive, lol. My mom lives up above her so we had 4 generations in one house. Ahhh...good times, lol. We didn't tell my mom we were coming so she was surprised when we came knocking on her door and the first one to walk in was my lil' granddaughter. I wish I had taken a picture of her face at that moment, lol. Anyway, today's card is for my nephew.....

Graduation Day!

Hello and Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I'm having a busy week and getting ready
for my babies big day today! I'm soooo
PROUD of my SON and very excited for
him! I'm also very nervous as the mom to send
my baby out into the world! I know we've been
preparing for this day for 18 years but it still tugs
at my heart.... I'm hoping to be strong and not
cry.... but I don't know what emotions I will
have once that music starts playing! :o)
I didn't have time to make a card because
of family visiting and stuff but I want to post
a picture of my Handsome Graduate!

CONGRATULATIONS MATHEW!!!!!

My Son the Graduate
by Cynthia Ice
I have waited for this day, through twelve years of school.
From the first day you caught the bus on your first day of kindergarten,
as the tears streamed down my cheeks all the way to watching you walk
down the isle to receive your High School Diploma, these tears still
stream from my cheeks. So proud to see you wear that cap and gown,
but, sad to see you leave your home town. I know you must go and find
your pathway in life, I just hope it's without any strife.
You, my young man, have made me a very proud mother throughout
the years, there is nothing I would not do for you, so if by chance you
happen to stop by someday just to see your old room, I will meet you
at the door with my arms held open to embrace you and these tears
streaming down my cheeks, not because I am sad, but, because you
have grown into a wonderful man. Love forever, Mom

I Hope all of you have an AWESOME DAY!!!

New follower here!
Ooo, that's a busy week! Last week I had to make a birthday card for my
other brother and a graduation card for my cousin.
Just those 2 made me feel busy! I guess I still need practice to get
used to being able to do a few cards at once. I'm still learning.
I like your card because most of my cards are girly and glittery. I had to stop
and think about what to do for my brother's card! I know I don't see
masculine cards as often, so thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the opportunity to win the cartridge!
I still have that one on my wishlist because I read somewhere
that the layers are easy to work with.
Now I'm off to look at all your past projects! Thanks for the inspiration!

Day 7 Blogaversary Giveaway and Teacher Gift!

Hello and Happy Friday Everyone!
Sorry about the weird post... Don't know
where my sister Mi-Mi is? She was to fill it
in today.... Sooo here I am yet again! :o)
I'm just gonna get right to it here's my Project! :o)
Warning: This is Picture Heavy!!!

So today is my youngest last day of school and I wanted
to make something for his Teacher as a "Thank You" for
a great year! And this is what I came up with! :o)

I cut the Milk Carton from the "All Wrapped Up"
Imagine Cartridge using my E2! Is was cut at 8.9" and the
only thing I had trouble with was the top closer part..
There were NOOOO score lines??? Soooo I had to
mess with it a little to figure it out myself! I cut the
"2nd Grade" out @ 2 1/4"
Card stock is Stampin' Up
Designer Paper is MME - Lemon Twist

My son LOVES the color green so I decided to
make the Crayon green to represent him! I Cut
the Crayon out @ 2 3/4"

The school bus is on the back side of the carton and
it was cut @ 2 1/2"

I LOVE the Scissors! :o) It was cut out @ 2 1/2"
and I used Joys Life Stamp Set - All Around Sentiment
Ink is Stampin' Up and the circles and scallop are from
nestabilites.... I used an eyelet from my stash to
keep the carton closed on the one side and added
some twine through the eyelet to have the stamp tag hang!
This Milk Carton is filled with Hershey Kisses! :O)

I had to decorate the bag with the matching theme!
Soooo.... I cut the School Bus out @ 6 3/4"
and I did it twice so both sides show the school bus!

I LOVE making post it note holders for the teachers.....
We all use post it notes so I thought it would be fun
to decorate it with a worm.... :o) The Worm/Flag
is cut @ 3" and it's from the Lovely Floral Lite Cartridge!
The Stamp, Ink and Card stock are Stampin' Up and Designer
paper is from MME (Lemon Twist)  I had
to use a wiggly eye for it! LOL

Here is just the inside of the post it note holder...
The gel pen is from Walmart... I got it as a set of
3 for a $1.....

I LOVE how this box turned out as well! I made it
to hold 3 x 3 cards.... It's all decorated in the Lemon Twist Paper
and the top (#1 Teacher) is Cut @ 2 1/2"
I also used a border punch from Stampin' Up
it's under the #1 Teacher..... :o)

Here is the box open with all the 3 x 3 note cards inside...

And here are all the note cards! It's a set of 8....
I used 2 embossing folders, assorted ribbon...
The Lemon Twist Paper and Stampin' Up Card stock!
The (Apple) is Cut @ 1 1/2 and is from the
Making the Grade Cartridge
The rest are cut from the Locker Talk Cartridge
 (Pencil) is Cut @ 1 3/8"
 (Ruler) is Cut @ 1"
 (Chalkboard) is Cut @ 2 1/4"
I also used my White Signo Gel Pen and
my Black Zig Pen for all the Faux Stitching & dots!

I also made a card for the teacher to go along with this set...
but it was pretty late when I finished it so I have
noooo picture of that.... Sorry!
I hope you liked my project for today!

Day 6 Blogaversary and Bowling???

Hello and Happy Thursday everyone!
I can't believe we are on day 6 already!
Wow the week is flying by and I'm almost
done with all my projects! Yeaaa for Me!
Since most of you have left comments about
having trouble with masculine cards I thought
I would post another one for ya today! For me...
they seem fairly easy... WHY? Well.... I have 3 boys
and a hubby and I also have 4 brothers and a FIL, etc ...
So, I think that really plays apart in making masculine cards...
Guys are fairly simple people, so try not to over think a card for a guy...
Simple works best and can be very easy to come up with! :o)
Here's today's card to show you how
simple and yet perfect for a guy! :o)

I used my Imagine this time around to make this card!
Card stock, ink, Stamp - Stampin' Up
Designer Paper - Hopscotch (Imagine Cartridge)
Green Shadow - DCWV
Nifty Fifties - (Bowling pin/Ball) Cut @ 4 1/2"
(Shape #43) Cut @ 4 3/4" Flood Filled with the
Hopscotch DP

Here is the side view to show that I popped up
the Bowling Ball and the Red Strips on the Pin...
It came together fairly quickly and any guy would
just be happy to have a simple card like this! :o)

Now... onto the next part.... THE GIVEAWAY!!

That's right! We are having a giveaway everyday for
7 days!!!! In Celebration of our 1 year Blogaversary!!
