Hello & Happy Friday Crafty Friends!
With Winter in FULL Swing - Sometimes we need
something to wash away those Winter Blues -
So I thought I would make
some FUN Winter Goodie Bags for the Kids at
school using some Oriental Trading Products.
My whole idea started with this Giant box of
Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa I purchased at a local store --
I mean Who Doesn't Like Hot cocoa on a Cold Blustery Day???
Then I went to Oriental Trading where I found Everything I
needed to create a FUN Wintry Themed Gift Bag!
I got all my items together and separated them into
small piles - We have 21 students in our 5th-grade class -
Each Bag will Contain 3 packs of Hot Cocoa,
3 packs of Marshmallow Snowman Candy Treat Packs,
I wanted to show you how THICK these spoons are - I could not believe
how thick they were and I have to give Extra Props to
Oriental Trading for how they shipped them - I got 2 packs
of 12 and they were each individually wrapped so
nothing was broken! They did the same thing with the
Cute Snowman Suckers - Everything arrived in excellent condition -
Which was amazing in itself! - We all know sometimes
things break during Shipping, and I thought I would have
maybe a couple of items broken due to what they were -
But NOPE... Excellent packaging on their part -
I was very excited & Impressed by that! KUDOS to them!
I used some Adorable Snowman Goody Cellophane bags
to tie the whole theme together - Each bag was tied up
with some grey twine I had in my stash --
I really think the kids at school are going to enjoy these
in the next few weeks --
Not only did I make those fun Goody bags!
I also made a Winter Themed Home Decor project -
I was totally on a roll one day - and thought this sign
would be fun to hang up in my house --
I used a blank DIY Wooden Slate Sign and painted it
with a Shimmer Blue paint I had in my Stash - Once it dried
I splattered on some White & Silver Acrylic Paint - Just
to give it a Snow/Wintry look - As that dried on my sign
I found some Winter Scrap Paper in my stash
and traced the DIY Unfinished wooden Snowflakes with a pencil
and then cut the shapes out of the paper -
then I applied some Mod Podge to each
snowflake - then placed the paper cutout snowflakes
on top of the unfinished wood ones - set them off to dry -
While everything was drying - I went to my Cameo program
and found a really cute Winter Sentiment and cut it out
with some Scrap vinyl, I had - Placed it where
I wanted on my now dried sign, then used some
Hot Glue to place the snowflakes around the sentiment
And there is my NEW DIY Winter Sign hanging in my Kitchen!
Head on over to Oriental Trading to check out the items used on my project and for other Seasonal decor items. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous day!
