Special Gift for my Sister!

Hello & happy Friday Everyone!
I have a special post just for today!
If you are seeing this, it means I'm at
my sisters' house visiting and she has finally seen the gift I made her!
I've been soooo excited to share this!
I hope you like it as much as she does! :)

Most of you know I love to make wood projects -
and I really haven't been on the ball with it as
I should be, but this piece is now my
 FAVORITE Wood Piece Ever!
In fact, I loved it sooooo much that I made 2 of them!!
One for her and one for me!! EEK!!!

Isn't this the coolest??? I so LOVE it!!!
I got the wood pieces from my local wood Craft store
I painted everything and added the papers I had in
my stash - lots of paint, Mod Podge, Wood glue, Hot glue -
a little drilling here and there - :)

The ladder was Spray-painted in black

The papers I'm using are from American Crafts - they were in my
Scrap Stash pile - I had a couple of pieces of wooden snowflakes, so
I painted them to match the paper then used some wood glue to
attach it to the wonky shape - I made a bow with my Candy Cane Trendy Twine
then I hot glued a gold bell onto it - it's attached to the ladder with wood glue -
I had some silver Chenille Stems and twirled them with a pencil then
I hot glued a piece of it inside the wood shape (we drilled a tiny hole for it)

This piece was painted green and I inked the edges with black Momento Ink
The sentiment is all vinyl, then I added different sizes of red enamel dots
I grabbed some Red, Green, & White Tulle and tied them up then I hot glued
them to the wood - We drilled some tiny holes in the top so we could attach
some screw hooks for it to dangle on the ladder -

This piece was painted Green & red then I added the paper with Mod Podge
I sanded the edges then inked it in black - I attached the star to the top
and put some Clear Wink of Stella on it, just for some sparkle!
I had some leftover Red Mesh, so I made a little bow
out of it and Hot glued the mesh & Bell to the wood piece -
Then I used some wood glue to attach it to the ladder!

Here's Mr. Grinch himself! LOL
I painted a portion of this wood piece in Green and the
other portion Red - His Face is Vinyl and I inked the edges in black -
I used an assortment of sizes for the White Enamel dots on his hat -
His trim was painted white then I used some
DecoArt - Snow-Tex to create the texture on the trim -
I never used Snow-Tex before, it was interesting to mess with, I really
like the added texture with it -
As you can see we had to drill a hole in the top of his hat so he
could dangle on the ladder as well -

Here's another Fun Wood Element piece - I painted this one green
then added the paper with Mod Podge - It was plain so I went ahead an
grabbed a Sizzix Oval Die and Die cut a piece a green Fun Foam then
Die cut the Green & White Striped Paper, just to add a little something to it -
Of course, I felt it still needed a little something so I grabbed
my, My Creative Time Present Tag Die and die cut out the
gift portion and adhered that on top of the oval shape -
I liked that a lot better and then I added Some Clear Wink of Stella
to the bow portion on the gift -
I found some Red Chenille Stems and twirled it up
with a pencil then I drilled a small hole and Hot glued
it to the wood ornament - I Hot glued the Red & White
Tulle and the red bell before using some wood glue to attach it
to the lower portion of the ladder -

Here is the last piece that's dangling on the ladder -
The towns are all vinyl words- as you can tell I painted
everything either Red, Green or White! hahahaha
I mod Podge the striped paper then inked the edges in black
I added a couple of White enamel dots and used more of that
Deco Art - Snow-Tex on this piece...
It really looks like snow from a distance...
I like the texture it adds to the wood pieces -

As I said I made 2 of these - it took some time to
make both of them but so worth it - They both look almost
exactly the same - I had to use a different piece of paper
on one of the wood ornament pieces -
otherwise, they are pretty close in matching -

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'll be back sometime in a week or two?

I've kind of lost my Mojo for cardmaking, so
we'll see what happens - I've been trying to keep
up with my blogging Comments, not so much on FB -
Work has been keeping me super Busy!
And right now, I'm trying to enjoy some time
with my Marine Son who is home for the holidays -
He hasn't had a Christmas with us in a couple of years -

I wish you ALL a Fabulous New Year!

some adorable images, a sweet sentiment, some enamel dots
and some of my favorite Trendy Twine - CANDY CANE
I love how the green & red twine are swirled together with the white
My friends loved their little goodies! :)

Here's a close-up - I hot glued the tiny bells onto the twine - So CUTE! :)

Project #2

Most of my crafty friends know I LOVE to make Wood Projects!
It seems like Forever since I've shared one - So I made this
little cutie! Super Easy to make with a wood block and a cut
Candy Cane design piece of wood - The papers are from my stash
and the sentiment is red vinyl - I inked the edges with some red ink as well -

Here's a close up of this one - I'm using another
Favorite Trendy Twine color of mine - PEPPERMINT STICK
I made a double bow and attached some gold bells to it-
This is super cute sitting on my shelf in my living room!

That's right! My Halloween stuff is UP! I can't wait!
I don't care that it's still in the upper 90's either!
I want Fall to arrive Please and Thank You! LOL

I used different Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints
The Designer Paper is older Stampin Up Paper
I used some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and some
Brilliance Moonlight White ink
He was sanded down and I got out the wood glue
to attach his hair, eyes/nose, Teeth

Here's the fun Project my Son Made!

My son LOVES the Nightmare before Christmas movie so
when I saw Jack at the wood store for only $3
I HAD to get it for him! :)

He used White & Black Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints
The Designer Paper is older paper from DCWV
He used a White Sharpie Paint Pen &
a Black Craftsmart Paint pen for all the lines/details

He used Mod Podge on the eyes then added some
WOW Black Glitter - Then he sprayed over the
eyes again with some Mod Podge Spray to make sure
the glitter stayed put!

He sanded Jack down then used some
Memento Tuxedo Black ink around the edges!
He used wood glue to attach his eyes and his collar piece

4th of July Wooden Star..

Hello & Happy Monday Everyone!
We got a BIG Holiday coming up!
The 4th of July is always so fun with
Barbeques and Fireworks - Friends & Family!
Great time to Celebrate our Freedom & Independence!

With that comes Decorating!! Who likes to decorate??
MEEE!!! I Dooo, I Doooo!!! LOL
I love decorating my house for the holidays/seasons
It just makes me HAPPY!!!

So here's a super quick project I created -

My FAVORITE Local wood store has closed (Inserting Sad Face)
But not before I went down there to buy a bunch of different things -
Of course by the time I got there (Less than 24hrs. after they announced it)
They were sold out on almost everything!! I'm so BUMMED!!!

I guess I'll have to order my wood pieces online now... UGH!

Anywho... I got this simply cute Star design from them and
painted it up right away with Dark Navy blue
Then I Mod Podged over the Blue and added
some Sparkly blue Glitter! Then I reapplied more
Mod Podge, so the Glitter wouldn't fall off!

Then I grabbed a Scrap piece of some Doodlebug paper
Traced out the little star shape, cut it out and adhered that
piece on with Mod Podge then sanded it down
before attaching it with some wood glue -

Then it was time to dress it up! So I grabbed my White
Tulle and glued it in place (I was going for a POP type of Look)
Like from fireworks... :) Then I Made a Double Bow
And stuck it on my shelf! LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a Fantastic Day!!!

Fun Kitchen Sign!

Hello and Happy Monday Everyone!
How was your weekend? Mine was busy
crafting! Lots to do, lots to do! It was way too hot outside...
So crafting seemed like the better choice! LOL

I made a super FUN Kitchen sign for myself and
I made one as a gift for my niece -

I saw the sign on Pinterest and could NOT
stop laughing - So I had to make one for myself!

I used my Silhouette Program to make my sign
I found the pan on google as a free image
I can't remember the fonts I used, but they probably came
from the Silhouette store along with those utensil images.

I painted a wooden frame with White Chalk paint,
then painted over that with some Red Chalk paint
Then I sanded it down some to give it a Distressed look

I'm using White vinyl from Expression Vinyl on my sign
and I found some older Stampin' Up Ribbon to attach
for hanging my sign.

This is the one I made for my Niece -
She likes the colors White, Blue, & Maroon -
So I made sure to incorporate all 3 colors on hers!

I also decided to add some smoke... HAHAHA
I found the smoke image in one of my coffee files and
shrunk it down to fit her sign... I really like the added Smoke!

I attached a dark blue/white stripe ribbon to hers for hanging in her Kitchen!
She LOVED her sign and had it hanging up the same day I gave it to her!

Have a FABULOUS DAY!!!

Today we are celebrating 8 years that Carson's Creations has been sharing.
I remember when I first started so many years ago...
I was a bit clueless, but the crafty world invited me in and
I have since made many lasting friendships over the years.

drawn to win some fantastic prizes.

Here is my project:

Georgiana asked us to create something to CELEBRATE!
So, I'm Celebrating SUMMER! At least where I'm at its Summer outside!
We are in the high 90's to low 100 degrees already! :)

I made this FUN Wood project to sit on my shelf -

The entire wood project was plain -  so I used an
assortment of Acrylic paints to paint the Sun, letters, &
wooden plank - Then I added glitter to some pieces and
Doodlebug Papers to other pieces - The word Sunshine is
a vinyl piece - and for bells and whistles I used some
adhesive gems, and ribbons...

It's so bright and cheery on my shelf!!!

Here's what I'm giving away:

Summertime Caterpillar....

Hello & Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends!!!
Tomorrow is Officially the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! YAY
So, I'm super busy this week and wanted to make this
post-Short & Sweet! I'm trying to break up
all the Graduation Card posts and thought I
would share one of the wood projects I made
over the weekend!!! I'm so Happy with how
all of them came out!!! :)

Isn't it Super CUTE??? I think it's adorable!!!

I got the Plain Wooden Caterpillar from my local
Wood store and painted it in Fun Bright
Summer colors - Then I grabbed some of my
Doodlebug Summer Papers and added them to the front
with some Mod Podge to adhere them down
I had to use some wood glue on 2 of the circles
since they were stand out pieces ( I pre-sanded these pieces)
then I sanded the rest and did some inking around
all the edges to give it a nice finished look -

I purchased some thick wire at my local hardware
store and curled up the antennas with needle nose pliers
And hot glued them into the predrilled holes

Then I added some ribbon that was in my stash
along with a googly eye -
Then I added some assorted adhesive gems to match
the bright colors and that was it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a FANTASTIC DAY!!!

Oriental Trading - Winter Treats

Hello & Happy Friday Crafty Friends!
With Winter in FULL Swing - Sometimes we need
something to wash away those Winter Blues -

So I thought I would make
some FUN Winter Goodie Bags for the Kids at
school using some Oriental Trading Products.

My whole idea started with this Giant box of
Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa I purchased at a local store --
I mean Who Doesn't Like Hot cocoa on a Cold Blustery Day???

Then I went to Oriental Trading where I found Everything I
needed to create a FUN Wintry Themed Gift Bag!
I got all my items together and separated them into
small piles - We have 21 students in our 5th-grade class -

Each Bag will Contain 3 packs of Hot Cocoa,

I wanted to show you how THICK these spoons are - I could not believe
how thick they were and I have to give Extra Props to
Oriental Trading for how they shipped them - I got 2 packs
of 12 and they were each individually wrapped so
nothing was broken! They did the same thing with the
Cute Snowman Suckers - Everything arrived in excellent condition -
Which was amazing in itself! - We all know sometimes
things break during Shipping, and I thought I would have
maybe a couple of items broken due to what they were -
But NOPE... Excellent packaging on their part -
I was very excited & Impressed by that! KUDOS to them!

I used some Adorable Snowman Goody Cellophane bags
to tie the whole theme together - Each bag was tied up
with some grey twine I had in my stash --
I really think the kids at school are going to enjoy these
in the next few weeks --

Not only did I make those fun Goody bags!
I also made a Winter Themed Home Decor project -
I was totally on a roll one day - and thought this sign
would be fun to hang up in my house --

I used a blank DIY Wooden Slate Sign and painted it
with a Shimmer Blue paint I had in my Stash - Once it dried
I splattered on some White & Silver Acrylic Paint - Just
to give it a Snow/Wintry look - As that dried on my sign
I found some Winter Scrap Paper in my stash
and traced the DIY Unfinished wooden Snowflakes with a pencil
and then cut the shapes out of the paper -
then I applied some Mod Podge to each
snowflake - then placed the paper cutout snowflakes
on top of the unfinished wood ones - set them off to dry -

While everything was drying - I went to my Cameo program
and found a really cute Winter Sentiment and cut it out
with some Scrap vinyl, I had - Placed it where
I wanted on my now dried sign, then used some
Hot Glue to place the snowflakes around the sentiment

And there is my NEW DIY Winter Sign hanging in my Kitchen!

Head on over to Oriental Trading to check out the items used on my project and for other Seasonal decor items.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a fabulous day!
This review is based strictly on my opinion.  I was provided the samples free of charge by Oriental Trading to provide my honest review.  No other type of compensation was received.  All ideas and opinions are my own.
