I have a quick post for ya today!

I made another Patriotic card - But this one was a Quickie!

I used my Washi tape and a piece of white cardstock -
I die cut a couple of stars and
added a sentiment - BAM! I gotta card! LOL

Cardstock - Papertrey Ink, Georgia Pacific, SU, DCWV (Burlap)
Fun Foam for Dimension
Washi Tape - Recollections
Star Dies - Your Next Stamp
Stitched Round Rectangle Die - My Favorite Things

SumMore Fun Mood Board Challenge #32

Hello & Happy Friday Everyone!

Today... starts another FUN Challenge over at: 

SumMore Fun Stamps

Our Mood Board is - 

 You can use the theme, pictures, or color combo
 You don't have to use
a stamp from SumMore Fun if you don't have one!


All the rules for this fun challenge are RIGHT HERE!

Here's what I created to inspire you --

Even though we just Celebrated the 4th of July -

This Mood Board SCREAMS Patriotism --

It also SCREAMS SUMMER, & JULY -

So I grabbed my Raisin Boat Stamp set called

Strokes of Pride to create my card

I used my Misti and the stroke image stamp

and stamped the blue & red with

Distress Oxide Inks (Salty Ocean, Candied Apple)

Then I made sure to Heat set it so it would be

completely dry before I started Embossing --

I left my Misti out and positioned

all the words I was going to heat emboss in black

Once I thought everything looked good

I stamped them with some versamark ink

and then poured my Ultra Fine Black Embossing 

powder over them - I let my heat tool get nice and 

hot, then I heated up the black embossing -

I thought it looked so cool! I now needed to

downsize my card front piece, so I grabbed

a Stitched Rectangle die and die cut the

entire piece out - Then Grabbed a piece of

White Fun Foam to add to the back

side so it would POP up on my Blue Card Base

It was super quick to make and just has

so much meaning behind it! I already sent

it off in the mail and I hope the recipient liked it!

Here's another photo of my card - I was trying

to get a good shot so you could see the black Embossing

It really stands out on this card!!

Celebrate America!

Hello & Happy 4th of July Everyone!!

I hope you're spending the day with

family & friends celebrating this Awesome

country we live in thanks to our AMAZING Military!!!

I have a Super quick post I want to share with you -

I made this for my Son who happens to be

an AWESOME Marine! 

The Background is a Star Stencil which I colored in with

Some Distress Oxides in Fired Brick & Mermaid Lagoon

Then I used a stitched rectangle die to cut it down to size

Then I laid down some Festive Washi Tape over top

I die cut out a couple of Your Next Stamp Stars

and laid them over the Washi Tape

Then I grabbed my Jaded Blossom (Celebrate America) Stamp set

and stamped (Red, White, & Blue) in the white smaller Star

Then die cut the stitched banner die from the Jaded Blossom

(Card Layer Die 2) set then Stamped the (Celebrate America)

on it in red & black ink - Popped it up, then took a piece of

Fun Foam to place behind my card front 

Then I attached the card front to my Navy card base...

Quick and Easy and ready to mail!

4th of July Wooden Star..

Hello & Happy Monday Everyone!

We got a BIG Holiday coming up!

The 4th of July is always so fun with

Barbeques and Fireworks - Friends & Family!

Great time to Celebrate our Freedom & Independence!

With that comes Decorating!! Who likes to decorate??

MEEE!!! I Dooo, I Doooo!!! LOL 

I love decorating my house for the holidays/seasons

It just makes me HAPPY!!!

So here's a super quick project I created -

 My FAVORITE Local wood store has closed (Inserting Sad Face)

But not before I went down there to buy a bunch of different things -

Of course by the time I got there (Less than 24hrs. after they announced it)

They were sold out on almost everything!! I'm so BUMMED!!!

I guess I'll have to order my wood pieces online now... UGH!

Anywho... I got this simply cute Star design from them and

painted it up right away with Dark Navy blue

Then I Mod Podged over the Blue and added

some Sparkly blue Glitter! Then I reapplied more

Mod Podge, so the Glitter wouldn't fall off!

Then I grabbed a Scrap piece of some Doodlebug paper

Traced out the little star shape, cut it out and adhered that

piece on with Mod Podge then sanded it down

before attaching it with some wood glue -

Then it was time to dress it up! So I grabbed my White

Tulle and glued it in place (I was going for a POP type of Look)

Like from fireworks... :) Then I Made a Double Bow

with my Peppermint Stick Trendy Twine!

And stuck it on my shelf! LOL

National Anthem....

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!

Today's my day to take over the blog at:

SumMore Fun Stamps Blog!!!

Today I thought I would share a Red, White, & Blue Card-

With the fourth of July coming up I felt the need

to create some Patriotic cards that I will mail

off to some of my friends!

I'm using the TOTALLY AWESOME

National Anthem Background (74508-S) Stamp

from Victorine Originals!! I gotta say this was

so easy to use and I LOVE how my background turned out!!

I used my Distress oxide inks in Candied Apple & Salty Ocean

Then I grabbed my Picket Fence Distress ink and stamped

the center in the white ink - It looked like it might fade out

so I pulled out some White embossing powder and poured

it over the center, part and heat embossed it

It totally made a huge difference and looks great between

the Red & Blue Words ...

As you can tell I did all of that on some Kraft Cardstock

And since it looks so nice, I didn't want to

take away from it too much --

So I decided to use a piece of Vellum and stamp

U.S.A. & an Eagle from the Strokes of Pride Raisin Boat

Stamp set. I used some Ultra Fine Black Embossing

powder on that part and I think it turned out nice...

 I felt my card needed a little something Extra --

So I die cut 2 Medium sized stars in Blue & Red and then 

2 tiny Stars in Silver then I adhered them

in the areas were the vellum was.

Patriotic Farmhouse...

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
The Weekend is almost here! YAY!!!

 I wanted to share a "Sort of" Patriotic card I made
to send to my son--

As most of you know, I have a son in the Marines and I like
to send him cards - just to let him know I'm thinking of him -
We talk on the phone weekly when he can, but I like to
just pop cards in the mail for him and I know he 
appreciates getting them from me with just sweet
little reminders of how proud I am of him!

So I made this card to send him and to make it for
the SumMore Fun Stamps Challenge that's still going on -

I used a Star Stencil for my background and some Distress
Oxide inks in Red Brick & Mermaid Lagoon
Then I die cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle die
I added some Red Striped Washi tape and set it aside -

Then I stamped the Victorine Originals
Farmhouse Stamp on a piece of white cardstock with some 
Stampin' Up Creamy Caramel ink
I die cut it out with a Stitched Oval die
and thought the card needed a little sentiment - 

So I took another piece of White Cardstock
and used some of the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink
and blended it until I thought it looked good -
Then I die cut a Stitched Banner die out of that colored paper
then took the (Hello) Stamp from the Flourshing Thoughts 
Raisin Boat Stamp set to give it that final touch I thought it needed -

And now it's in the mail to my Handsome Son! :)
