One of 2 Cards....

Hello and Happy Tuesday everyone!
I first want to let everyone know that this weekend
June 4th - 6th I will be participating in a Fun Blog hop called
Grillin' & Chillin' hosted by Barb over at
 http://bugbites411.blogspot.com/
She wanted to celebrate the start of the Summer Season
with a fun Buggie Hop! So Make sure you come back
for that, cause you know I'll be giving something away! :o)
And today I wanted to show one of the cards I made for
my moms birthday last week. I know my sister Mi-Mi posted
hers already and I was finally able to take some pictures of mine
so I thought I would share with all of you! :o)

I have always wanted to make a quilt type of card... I've
seen a billion different ones over the last year and never
tried one for myself... Until now that is! I figured out
what sizes I should make the squares after a few
trial and errors... Tehehe but once I got the exact sizing down
I cut everything out and then used my Sizzix die...
I pre-designed this card in my Design studio about a
month ago... and added the twine and pearls
after looking at my card thinking it needed something...

Here are the specks on it:

Card Stock, Ink, Stamp, Top Note Die - Stampin' Up
Designer Paper - MME (Pretty Please)
Pink Bakers Twine
White Pearls - KaiserCraft
Blue Pearls - Prima Marketing
Cartridges - Lacey Labels (#4 on Overlay) Cut @ 2"
Serenade (Butterfly) Cut @ 1 1/2" (2x's)

I only added a little bit to the inside...
I wanted the sentiment to be my focal point!

For those of you who may never have made this type
of card before, this is how I figured it out....
I took a piece of White Card stock  (4 x 5)
of course that was after trying different sizes at first! LOL
Then I figured the squares @ 1 1/4" eh. and I used 12 of them
I glued the squares to the CS then I put it through my
cuttlebug with the Top Note die (2 B plates Only) and there ya have it...
a quilt looking design! I hope that helps someone out! :o)
Thanks for stopping by and have an AWESOME DAY!!!
Theresa

Great card! The quilting technique is one that I want to try eventually. I Purposely bought one of the square punches from the clearance section of M's with this intention. I'll have to figure out another way to do it though because I don't have any dies for my Cuttlebug. I also don't have many patterned paper scraps just yet. Haha, it might have to be a long time from now, but your post reminded me of it!

I notice you use the Hallmark program for lots of your insides - how do you make it print the inside page only - or do you just print the whole card and throw out the fronts?

It's amazing Theresa! I am running out of things to say about your cards. Should we all start making up words? Like... That card deserves "Two Stamps!"... or That card deserves a "Blog-scar!" Hee! Hee! Maybe we should all come up with our own language for complimenting fantastic designs like this one. What do you think?
