Peas & Carrots - with a Story....

Hello and Happy Thursday everyone!
You will not believe what happen yesterday!
I was working on some cards for a special order
and As I was doing this my Son Juston comes
yelling at me to take "DAD" to the Hospital!
I was like WHAT??? What the Heck Happen?
He tells me my Hubby Cut his finger off with
a Table Saw!!!! I Was like OMGOSH! Now some
of you know about my hubby and some of you may
not. My hubby had a stroke at the age of 36! He is
Medically disabled due to it and he can't work. He has
always been a worker.... LOVES WORK!! Soooo
since he can't work I've taken care of him over the past
7 yrs. due to his condition and other conditions that
have happen after the the stroke... Any way... Since he feels
the need to work I always ask him to build things for me...
He's not a builder by trade but he makes wonderful items...
Like my turntable punch holder and things like that... Anyway...
He was out in his shop cutting up some wood by himself and he
cut off his pinkie finger!!!! He bleeds really bad due to the medicines
he takes.... so I'm taking him to our little local hospital since we
live down the street from it and I can't even look at his finger... YUCK!
Soooo they do an x-ray and can you believe it... he didn't lose his finger....
He cracked the bone and some of his finger was gone but I thought he
chopped it off at first from what my son was saying! Soooo they stitched
up what they could and gave him some meds to get through the next couple of days....
Boy.... was he lucky! This is the second time this has happen to him! YESSSS!
He's done this before with a different finger... And I remind him that he only
has that 1 good hand so he should really take care of it! He was also helping
my oldest son fix his car and now he has to put that off for a little bit... The Dr.
Wants him to "NOT USE" his hand for anything for at least 2 weeks! Well
that's gonna drive him and ME crazy!!! Cause if he has nothing to do guess
what happens next????? YUP he'll be bugging ME!!! UGH!!! Anyway... I'm
just grateful everything turned out OK! He's in a lot of pain at the moment
cause they didn't give him strong enough meds.... Ohhhh... And before the
Dr. sewed his finger up..... He was suppose to numb it.... right? Well he gave
my husband some numbing stuff but it didn't work and he told the Dr this....
Soooo the Dr. tries to give him some more.... and STILL doesn't work!! So
when the Dr. puts the saline on the open wound my hubby starts moaning
a lot! It's still not numb!!! So the Dr. sprays the numbing stuff directly onto
the open wound which helps some... sooo the Dr. ASSUMES that his finger
is numb and he starts to put the needle thru to stitch him up and my husband
starts groaning in PAIN!!! He's Not numb and he's stitching him up without
anything now! OMGOSH! I could not believe this... My husband is a really
tough guy! I mean he can tolerate a lot of pain but MAN that was awful to watch
the Dr. doing this to him.... Like I said his finger really hurts a lot right now and
I can only hope that he will fall asleep soon and the pain goes away....
I guess I will share a project with you after my LOOONNNGG Story!

I used my Imagine to make this card.... :o)

inked around the edges

Father's Day Imagine Challenge!

Hello and Happy Thursday everyone!
I asked Mi-Mi to post today since I'm
doing a blog hop on Saturday but I have nooooo
clue where she is at! :o) Sooo I thought I would
post my card for a challenge over at:
Creative Critterz Imagination - Make a Father's Day
card using your Imagine! They are asking everyone to
join in and then you get to vote for your favorite card!
Soooo if you don't have an Imagine or plan to participate
I would LOVE it if you can vote for me! The winner will
receive the YUMMY Imagine Cartridge! Nice Prize! :o)
I've contacted Tammy about the challenge because there
is a problem with linking my project up so as soon as I know
all is well with linking I'll let you guys know too! :o)
Anyway.... Here is the project I made for their challenge!

I really like how this turned out! I used the Cricut Craft Room
to design my card.... They are working on getting the Imagine
to cut but it's not 100% yet... Or at least it's not for me! :o) They
are very close to getting both the I and the CCR to work together
and I'm soooo super exited about that! :o) Any who...

Card stock, Scallop border Punch - Stampin' Up
Designer papers - Imagine More Cartridge
Cartridges - George & Basic Shapes (Scallop Border)
was done in the DP & cut @ 4.4
(Striped Rectangle) was Cut @ 4.4
(Spotted DP) was Cut @ 4.3 x 5.8
Celebrate w/Flourishes (DAD) Cut @ 3 1/2"
(1) was cut out (2x's)
(#) was cut out (2x's)
(D) was cut out (2x's)
(D) was cut out (2x's)
And then I added some Baker's Twine

Here is the side view to show the added dimension
that I used to pop up some of the cuts on the #1 Dad!

And yes the inside is done just a little bit!
I don't like to waste any paper so I took the
extra piece from the Imagine Circle DP and cut it in
half then used the border scallop punch on them
they are about 1/2" wide and 4" long
and the sentiment is from my Hallmark program....

Someone asked me how I use my program with my
cards and basically I get a sheet of white Card stock
and add a few different sentiments to the sheet since
I don't like to waste paper/Card stock and I usually get
about 4 different sentiments on 1 sheet and then I cut them
out that way instead of using my Cricut & the Center point...
I actually have 1 piece of card stock as my template already
It's a 4 x 5 1/4 piece and I have a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 for my
square cards that I use.... and I flip my paper over and use my
template to mark my cutting area.... If this doesn't make sense
to anyone please let me know and I will do a tutorial on it....
It's really easy to do and maybe someone else has a better
method but this is what works for me.... So let me know
in the comment section... Thanks for stopping by...
and make sure you go check out
how crafty those design team gals are!
They come up with such cute projects using the I!
Have an AWESOME DAY!!!!

Card Feature....

Hello and Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying the week so far!
Today is our Challenge over at Cricut Cardz !
We are to make a card using the Card Feature
from any cartridge! This one is a lot of fun to do!
I think we all forget there are card features on
a lot of the cartridges! Even the Imagine has some
card features.... And that is what I chose for today's Challenge!

This is a Tri-Fold Card & it's a regular A2 Size Card!
I used my CCR program to measure out the size first
because I like to make 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Cards.....
The Cartridge I used was Imagine More Cards
Card Shape was cut @ 9.8 (2x's) & I flipped
one to go inside the card...
I used the "Separate Layers" Button for
the Whale.... The Get Whale soon portion
was cut @ 3"
I cut 2 Whales, 2 Brown/Blue Circles, 1 Blue Circle,
1 Whale Water Spout, 1 Get Well Soon Sentiment
I used Pink Bakers Twine
Pink Button from Papertrey Ink
Flowers are from Making Memories Blossoms

Here is the side view to show the layers of the
Whale, Spout, Circles

And here is the inside... I don't like to
have a white inside... I don't know why... I just don't!
So I used the flip feature to make the inside match up to the
front of the card... and I cut the sections off just
enough to show a little of the white...
I think this turned out pretty nice!
Now I'll just save it until I need to mail it
out to someone! :o) OK... Now that you've
seen what I made, head on over to Cricut Cardz Challenge
and play along with us! And don't forget to check out
the other design team members blogs.... they've all made
some great creations! :o) Thanks for stopping by
Have an AWESOME DAY!!!!
