Oriental Trading - Winter Treats

Hello & Happy Friday Crafty Friends!
With Winter in FULL Swing - Sometimes we need
something to wash away those Winter Blues -

So I thought I would make
some FUN Winter Goodie Bags for the Kids at
school using some Oriental Trading Products.

My whole idea started with this Giant box of
Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa I purchased at a local store --
I mean Who Doesn't Like Hot cocoa on a Cold Blustery Day???

Then I went to Oriental Trading where I found Everything I
needed to create a FUN Wintry Themed Gift Bag!
I got all my items together and separated them into
small piles - We have 21 students in our 5th-grade class -

Each Bag will Contain 3 packs of Hot Cocoa,

I wanted to show you how THICK these spoons are - I could not believe
how thick they were and I have to give Extra Props to
Oriental Trading for how they shipped them - I got 2 packs
of 12 and they were each individually wrapped so
nothing was broken! They did the same thing with the
Cute Snowman Suckers - Everything arrived in excellent condition -
Which was amazing in itself! - We all know sometimes
things break during Shipping, and I thought I would have
maybe a couple of items broken due to what they were -
But NOPE... Excellent packaging on their part -
I was very excited & Impressed by that! KUDOS to them!

I used some Adorable Snowman Goody Cellophane bags
to tie the whole theme together - Each bag was tied up
with some grey twine I had in my stash --
I really think the kids at school are going to enjoy these
in the next few weeks --

Not only did I make those fun Goody bags!
I also made a Winter Themed Home Decor project -
I was totally on a roll one day - and thought this sign
would be fun to hang up in my house --

I used a blank DIY Wooden Slate Sign and painted it
with a Shimmer Blue paint I had in my Stash - Once it dried
I splattered on some White & Silver Acrylic Paint - Just
to give it a Snow/Wintry look - As that dried on my sign
I found some Winter Scrap Paper in my stash
and traced the DIY Unfinished wooden Snowflakes with a pencil
and then cut the shapes out of the paper -
then I applied some Mod Podge to each
snowflake - then placed the paper cutout snowflakes
on top of the unfinished wood ones - set them off to dry -

While everything was drying - I went to my Cameo program
and found a really cute Winter Sentiment and cut it out
with some Scrap vinyl, I had - Placed it where
I wanted on my now dried sign, then used some
Hot Glue to place the snowflakes around the sentiment

And there is my NEW DIY Winter Sign hanging in my Kitchen!

Head on over to Oriental Trading to check out the items used on my project and for other Seasonal decor items.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a fabulous day!
This review is based strictly on my opinion.  I was provided the samples free of charge by Oriental Trading to provide my honest review.  No other type of compensation was received.  All ideas and opinions are my own.

Make Shiny new memories...

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
How was Christmas? Are you guys ready
to Celebrate the New Year?
I'm still enjoying my vacation time --

I return to work Jan. 4th, so you can imagine
how much stuff I'm trying to soak in before
heading back to work! :)

I thought I would share another Holiday card
I made using a couple of Fabulous Raisin Boat Stamps --

I love the colors on this card! The Black, Gold & Pink
are so pretty together! I'm using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink,
Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink,
Brilliance Moonlight White Ink & Regal Rose Ink
Then I used CLEAR Embossing powder over them to
make them stand out just a bit more!
I'm using Rainbow Jewels & Ice Cube Mix by Lucy's Cards

The (Celebrate) Word die is from MFT and I used the Brilliance Galaxy Gold Ink
on a piece of white Cardstock - I Just smeared it onto the white cardstock
then Clear Embossed it, to make it POP - then Die cut the
word out 2x's -- The Stamped Sentiment actually has more too it -
But since I didn't want to use the other 1/2 of the sentiment on my card --
I did some stamp surgery on it - I cut the sentiment in
1/2 so I could use the part I wanted -
The (Wavy Scallop Border) die is from SSS
I cut it out twice -
Once in Black CS, then again in White CS to overlap each other...

Of course, you know I couldn't resist doing the inside of my
card as well -- I added a sentiment & some more Snowflakes

This will make a great Non-traditional colored Holiday card for 2018!

No Peeking!!

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
Today's my day to take over the blog at:
YAY for me... 🙌

I thought I would show you another FUN Whimsical
Christmas card!

EEK!!! This card was super easy to make & I LOOOOVE
this FUN Raisin Boat Stamp set --

It's called ELVES are WATCHING (9257-Z)

Isn't it a Super CUTE Set???
It's one of my FAVORITES!!!

I think I like it because of the FUN Sentiments
that this set has - the Elves are super sweet too!!

So, I stamped my adorable elf on a piece of Tim Holtz White
Watercolor paper, using Onyx Black Versafine ink -
Then colored him up with my Zig Real brush pens -
Found a Stitched frame die and some FUN Doodlebug Paper
and cut out a window -- Attached the 2 pieces together --

Then I cut another piece of Doodlebug paper (brick wall)
4 x 5 1/4 & placed it on my 110 lb. white Card base
Then I die cut 2 Stitched circles out of more cute Doodlebug papers
and placed them behind my Elf Window -
Then added the "Happy Holidays" Sentiment which was
also from the same Doodlebug Stack (Milk & Cookies)
I cut the ends for a banner style look --

Of course, you know I'm gonna show you the inside of my card too!!!
I die cut a couple of Snowflakes and used a strip of the Doodlebug
paper for the inside along with this Fabulous Victorine Originals stamp
called ALTHOUGH IT'S BEEN SAID (74631-E)

The Good Chocolate...

Hello & Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends!
Today's the last day of School! YAY!
Winter Vacation will be in Full Swing Starting tomorrow!

I'm so excited to get started on some projects
while on break, so I'll be taking a
break from blogging during that time as well...
I still have post scheduled for ALL this week

So, if you don't have time to comment because of
the Holidays... I'm totally cool with that! I get it...
We are ALL so busy this time of the year! :)

I just thought now would be a good time to focus on
getting my craft room organized a little better and
work on some techniques I haven't tried yet! :)

In the meantime - I wanted to share
the 40 treat bags I made for the staff at school -
I decided to throw the 5th graders a Pizza party
instead of treat bags, this month and they were
so excited to have Pizza! LOL

I gave these out Friday and the Teachers LOVED them - They were all
like "I so needed the Chocolate Today"! Hahaha
And they all kept saying.. OMGOSH... you got us the
"GOOD" Chocolate! Tehehe
The bags have Lindt Assorted Chocolates in them along
with some Hershey Nuggets --

The Treat toppers have an assortment of Scrap Holiday Papers & Cardstock -
All Die cut using the (FANCY TOPPER DIE SET) from
Jaded Blossom - I also cut 40 white pieces of Cardstock
for the backside of these - I Stamped (to: & From:) on each one

Now the images are either Print N Cut - Which I used my Cameo for OR
Stickers I had. The Stickers I purchased last year after Christmas
on Clearance at Michaels - Totally came in Handy for these! LOL
The Sentiment is also a Print N cut that I found in my
Silhouette program - I adjusted the size to fit these bags
then printed them out & let my machine cut them -

The Clear Gusset Bags I purchased from the
clearbags.com online store

I really enjoy making these for the teachers every year...
And I think a couple of the teachers look forward to
getting them now...

Have a fabulous day Sweet Friends!!

-- Here's what I created to play along --

Since Christmas IS right around the corner I thought I would
make this CUTE treat bag for my Hair Dresser -
She's such a sweet lady and I thought maybe she might like
some yummy goodies! :)

The Favor Bag Die is from Mama Elephant
I cut it out with Recollections 110Lb Red Card stock
The Stitched Scallop die is apart of the Mama Elephant
Die set and I used some Scraps I had --

The Stitched Heart Die is an Off Brand Die
The Snowflake Die is from My Creative Time (Winter Flakes)
The Owl Elf Image is a Print N Cut from Stinkin Cute Designs
I sealed my Bag with 2 glitter Clothespins (Recollections)
I also used some Candy Cane Trendy Twine to make my triple Bow
The Sweet Sentiment is from My Creative Time (Mini Christmas Greetings)

I think it turned out pretty CUTE & I think She'll Like it!

Branches...

Hello & Happy Monday Crafty Friends!
I realized that I hadn't shown you the last
Christmas card I made from that October
Card Class I went too - So, I thought... Today
is a good day to share it! :)

Here's the card the Hostess made for us
to re-create --

I really like the branches on this card
I wasn't a fan of the ribbon or the sentiment

Now - Here's what I made --

I liked the layout of her card, so I stuck with that -
I changed it up a bit by using a Stitched Rectangle die
and an Oval Double Stitch die...
I also used Red Cardstock as my Card Base - I thought the white was
too boring for me...
I used a Stitched banner die with a nice simple Sentiment
And I also used a Stitched Scallop die for my
Scallop border which shows smaller scallops than
the original card has.
I also wanted to dress up the branches, so
I used some Candy Cane Trendy Twine with
a Red gem to highlight the branches a bit -

Of course, to finish my card, I added some Tiny Clear Gems
and some Glitter Red & Green Nuvo Drops --

I think my card took a lighter approach
and felt the original card seemed to bulky/heavy
to me... What do you guys think???

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a Fabulous Day!

Theresa
