Yupo Birthday --

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
I'm soooo Excited today!!
Why? Cause I FINALLY got to play
with my Yupo Paper & Alcohol Inks! YAY!

See.... I bought these items the beginning of December
and was hoping to try this NEW TO ME Technique
out while I was on Winter Vacation --
Well... You all know I was sick!! And not a little sick either!
Full blown sick as a puppy, couldn't do much of anything Sick

So you could just imagine how sad I was not to be able
to craft like I had planned! DANG LIFE!! LOL

Anyway, I'm offically back to normal!!!! (whatever that is) LOL
Thanks for all the wonderful comments too - I think they helped!

Anyway - I made 10 different designs! I can't wait to share them
with you - but for now I'll just share 1

Isn't the background cool?? Okay, maybe it's just me?

I think the thing I like most about the Yupo paper is
that I can make 2 projects with 1 sheet or just 1 project -
AND how each design is different than the next --

In this case - I took 1 5x7 sheet of Yupo paper and
Alcohol Ink Colors (Wild Plum, Butterscotch,
Stream & Silver Mixative) & blended them together
using a blending tool - Once I was happy with how
my design looked, I just put it aside to dry and worked
on other colors & designs -

Then I decided I wanted to make a tag with a
piece of this paper, so I die cut out the Wavy
Shape - It cuts perfectly through your Big Shot Machine!!
Then I cut another piece of the Wavy Shape with White Cardstock
so I could cover the back side of my tag --

Then I pulled out the Four Layer Cake Stamp
& stamped on top of my yupo paper with some versamark ink
Then I took out some Super Fine White Embossing powder
& heated up my image -- I was careful not to keep the heat
on my paper to long - I didn't want to ruin anything --

I then pulled out the Happy Birthday (3989-B) Sentiment
stamp and stamped that on a scrap piece of white
cardstock in Starlite Silver Ink (Brilliance)
I heated that a little to make sure it was dry before
sending it through my Big Shot with that
Stitched Banner die --

I adhered the sentiment right onto my tag
and then added some clear adhesive gems to glam it up!
I found some matching ribbon and a piece of
Silver twine to tie the whole thing together!

I'm so happy I finally tried this!!
AND - I wanted to remind YOU

Lucky you to find time to use a new technique. I am looking forward to this weekend since we have Monday off and hubby has school functions. I am heading to the store to get some of these supplies and I am trying too. Love the look!

What a gorgeous background! I am loving it so much. I have seen a lot of alcohol ink/YUPO paper projects popping up recently. I kinda cringed when I saw the price of the paper in the craft store though. Where did you get yours from?
